Michael Ballack has resumed training at his new club, Bayer Leverkusen. Since signing with the Westphalian side, the 33-year-old midfielder has been in rehabilitation for an ankle injury suffered in his final appearance with former club Chelsea.  For the last 15 minutes of the session, Ballack joined fellow central midfielder Simon Rolfes, also recovering from injury, to work individually with fitness coach Holger Broich.  Leverkusen have pre-season matches on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday of this week, but neither Ballack nor Rolfes is expected to feature in any of the games. Ballack has set his return target for Leverkusen’s Bundesliga season opener, which will be held on August 22.
