The Unit is now a popular model from the vast Nixon range and it is one of the few models which is digital rather than analogue. Despite the vividly colored Units that were released earlier, the latest offering is nothing but colorful. Neutral gray tone covers the majority of the watch, while the exterior casing sports a jet black color. When Levi’s made its first jean, the XX back in 1879, they would have not imagined the brand to have evolved the way it did today. Essentially made for the working Americans, Levi’s jeans is known for their strength and durability and were worn by the miners, lumberjacks, farmers and cowboys. Levi’s Japan took the opportunity to bring over the original XX to Levi’s Shibuya store, showcasing it to denim fanatics in the land of Riding Sun. Handled with care, Levi’s historian Lynn Downey pulled out the vintage denim from its packaging, wearing white gloves to prevent it from getting damaged. Downey goes on to explain the history of the jeans and Tokyo based media company DEFRAG captured the whole unveiling event on video. The full video can be seen over at DEFRAG website right now.

Anticipation for this VANS Syndicate x WTAPS collaboration was stoked this past summer, when images of the shoes first surfaced online. Bearing the infamous “Bones” design motif last seen on the navy-colored collaborative pack from Fall 2007, this latest series sees the Sk8-Hi, Chukka Boot and Era styles done up in a tasty burgundy colorway. Each model is constructed with a combination of suede and canvas on the upper and highlighted with white accents and midsoles. They’re arriving at VANS Syndicate retailers now, like Encino’s Primitive, where they’re set to release in-store only on December 9th at 11 am. Southern Californians, set your alarm clocks and get there early, as these are sure to fly off the shelves.

Russian automaker Dartz, famous for their armored cars, introduces the Jo-Mojo electric roadster. Designed by Eduard Gray of Gray Design, the Jo-Mojo is propelled by an electric motor good for 80-horsepower and 90 lb-ft of torque. Interestingly, the motor can be recharged by a retractable roof that houses flexible solar cells created by former Soviet space manufacturer Sidrabe. The cover locks the car and charges it up as it’s parked underneath the Cote D’Azur sun (Dartz points out the car was made for coasting in the French Riviera). Notwithstanding the Jo-Mojo is an open-topped roadster groomed for fun and sun, it’s still built with a bullet-proof body, making it ideal transportation for the fugitive who has more than sunburn to worry about. If the latest Gymkhana video of Ken Block getting sideways and smokey in his Ford seems a bit like a car commercial, there’s a reason. In exchange for Ford’s deep support of Block’s drift rocket adventures, Block has been a very willing spokesman for the company; this latest installment sees Block making use of Ford’s Sync AV system, as he tools around on open roads in LA (in a very un-street legal vehicle). And if scenes that combine Block drifting in circles while DC BMX rider Kelly Bolton seem painfully cliche, then this video probably isn’t for you. But if you are one of Block’s many fans, who can’t get enough of his sponsor-emblazoned Fiesta antics, then read no further and watch immediately. Corporate sponsorship is heavy, but the high production values these videos have don’t come cheap. It’s good don’t-try-this-at-home fun for drift fans, and for fans of the genre a must-watch. The 9Fifty caps are available in a choice of Black or Grey suede while the more subtle 59Fifty comes in all Black or Tan.
