While billionaire Elon Husk’s struggle with his electric car company, Tesla Motors, proves to be a fascinated case of entrepreneurship 101, the fact remains that its only working model, the Tesla Roadster, is just an electrified Lotus Else. The necessary boost in the hybrid/electric auto sector might come from the larger players, such as Porsche, with its 918 Spyder Hybrid, soon to be in production, and this from its German compatriots, the Audi e-tron Spyder.

Oh how we wished we were in Paris right now. Sure, there are the celebrities, fashionistas, leggy models and other objects of beauty to look at the ongoing Paris Fashion Week. But our interest is on what’s happening across town, at the Mondial De L’Automobile, or 2010 Paris Auto Show. All primed and timed, auto shows in general are as rigid as the pressed suit car company execs donned on for these events, except the occasional surprises, like the Sesto Elemento Concept from Lamborghini.

For its 75th anniversary, Jaguar‘s unveiling the C-X75 Concept, an extended-range electric coupe showing off a new design direction for the leaping-kitty brand, along with a electric/gas turbine power source generating 780 hp. Your 21st century British supercar awaits.

A rivalry decades old is about to heat up once again. We’re not talking about the family feud between adidas and PUMA, but the long standing cold war between 2 other Germanic tribes –BMW and Mercedes-Benz. After launching a preemptive strike with renderings of its MINI Scooter E Concept, only to be drown out by the Smart EScooter announcement by Mercedes-Benz this week, BMW officially unveiled the MINI Scooter E Concept yesterday evening in MINI’s hometown of London with help from UK super model Agyness Deyn.

Range Rover will be releasing their new Evoque model in the coming months, opening an entirely new market to the brand. The smaller 4×4 car is targeted at a younger demographic. We cannot wait to see it live, because from the video above it certainly looks great. Enjoy!

In the upcoming 2010 Paris Auto Show, the venerable luxury auto maker BMW will debut several new updates to its expansive range of vehicle, including a design study to replace the current 6-Series Coupe. Billed as only a “BMW Concept 6 Series Coupe”, the new vehicle carried over the familiar styling from the previous model, including the iconic “kidney-shape” front grill. Yet, aspects of it are much more streamlined. Contoured, the lines flowed seamlessly from front to back of the vehicle, rather jagged visual breaks, made famous by the former BMW Chief of Design, Chris Bangle. The exterior designs also translated to the newly appointed interior, with a free standing Control Display for the iDrive vehicle management system. No words on when the new 6 Series Coupe will be available to the general public.

Everyone knew it the moment they saw it. Hell, even Steve Jobs alluded to it when he was unveiling the thing. The new multitouch iPod Nano was made to be strapped to a watch band. Here it is, for $17.

San Francisco based photographer Joey Celis has produced a custom sticker for his iPhone 4, skinning it to look like the Leica M9 camera. It looks really nice and certainly has its effect. Unfortunately he announced that he will not be selling the sticker. Someone please take care of this!
